Our Strain Is Gain

Daily Truth

How do we know if our battles have served us well? We will emerge from them leaning on the arm of our Beloved. We will find that through our suffering, Jesus has deposited within us new levels of humility, compassion, and love, and we are:

  • a little wiser to the enemy’s schemes;

  • take ourselves less seriously and God more seriously;

  • know, on a deeper level, how to maintain joy and peace in our hearts;

  • and find ourselves less attached to the things of this earth and more passionate about eternity with Jesus, and all that implies.

Romans 5:3–5 NLT ~ We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
