Gather With Jesus

Jesus said that unless we’re gathering with Him (drawing people to Him and His Gospel-saving message), we’re actually scattering the flock. Sobering, no? We must know that the enemy is so fiercely opposed to our call that he’ll stop at nothing to distract us from it. Sometimes the fiery arrows come in the way of worldly pursuits, distractions, and self-justified attitudes. When we’re distracted by such things, we miss the Savior’s work in our midst.

May God grant you a vision for the great work He’s called you to and the amazing power He promises you as you walk in His way. Picture the days ahead. There will be a clear distinction between those who walk in holy power and those who don’t. Ask the Lord to make you wise to the enemy’s predictable schemes against you. Use your shield like you mean it. Find a verse that speaks to your God-given call and that profoundly resonates with your heart. Try writing it down. Memorize it. Start praying with the boldness and authority entrusted to you.

Matthew 12:30 ESV ~ Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.
