Jesus Promised Abundance

Daily Truth

Spiritual warfare is not something to be taken lightly. The enemy destroys lives and even whole communities in places where evil is allowed to flourish. But one day, his schemes will be uncovered and wholly dismantled. He’ll forever lose his power to deceive and destroy. Oh, I long for that day! Yes. We have a very real enemy whose aim is to steal, kill, and destroy, as John 10:10 tells us. But if we focus solely on him and how he’s stirring up trouble, we’ll lose heart and courage. We’ll forget about the rest of that verse, where Jesus says, “But I’ve come that you might have life and live to the fullest” (my paraphrase). It’s possible to abound in hope and joy and flourish in life even when we have an enemy hiding in the darkness, hoping to derail us.

John 10:10 NLT ~ The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
