A Blessing And A Prayer

Today’s Blessing

May our sons flourish in their youth like well-nurtured plants. May our daughters be like graceful pillars, carved to beautify a palace. May our barns be filled with crops of every kind. May the flocks in our fields multiply by the thousands, even tens of thousands, and may our oxen be loaded down with produce. May there be no enemy breaking through our walls, no going into captivity, no cries of alarm in our town squares. Yes, joyful are those who live like this! Joyful indeed are those whose God is the Lord.

Psalm 144:12-15 NLT

Father, You are our Hope and our Shield. You are our Rock—the place on which we stand—and our Deliverer and Defender, the One who protects us. Hide us in the shadow of Your wing. Stretch out Your hand against our foes and show Your enemies Your zeal for Your people. Forgive us, Lord. Have mercy on us, O, God. We don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on You. We humble ourselves before You. Pour out Your Spirit on us and our sons and daughters. Bring the prodigals home. Awaken purpose in our children! Give them a great love for Your presence and Your Word. Let us see Your miracles once again! Let our children see Your glory at work! And may You, O God, make our efforts successful. Establish us in the work of Your hands. All we’ve ever accomplished is from You. We give you the glory, praise and honor You deserve. In Jesus’ mighty, matchless name we pray. Amen.
