Pay Close Attention

We are in a day when right has become wrong, wrong has become right, and our shame has become our glory, just as Scripture states. We’ve got to keep our wits about us. We have to continually immerse ourselves in God’s truth. We need to regularly say it, pray it, live it, and give it to others, so the enemy has no opportunity to snatch it from us. We need to cultivate the stewardship of listening and learning from the Holy Spirit so that we increasingly grow in discernment and walk in the authority entrusted to us. The minute we’re deceived is the moment the enemy makes his move. Read Jesus’ sobering words out of Mark’s gospel: 

Mark 4:24–25 NLT ~ Then he added, “Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given—and you will receive even more. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them.”
