Tend To Your Heart

Daily Truth

In the times I’ve been under attack, I’ve asked God  to cleanse and purify my heart—to remove from me the things that are accusable in me. I ask Him to lead me on the life-giving path He has for me. . . . I’ve learned to pray earnestly for those who don’t quite understand the damage they do when they choose judgment over mercy. God deals with people who, out of jealousy, stir up trouble. You stay the course. If you take the bait of offense, if you blame others for your problems and feel justified in your hatred of specific people or groups, you’ve wandered onto enemy territory unarmed, just as your enemy hoped you would. Take one look on social media and you’ll find that many, many Christians have taken this bait and have rendered themselves inoperable on the battlefield. In fact, some are doing much more harm than good because they’re fighting in the flesh, accusing in the flesh, and justifying their attitudes, which are born of the flesh. Lord, have mercy.

Colossians 3:13 NLT ~ Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.
