Grow In Love & Insight
Daily Truth
The Bible calls all of us—every believer—to live a life of discernment. According to Scripture, there are varying aspects of godly perception that we need to navigate life behind enemy lines. For example, in the book of Philippians, Paul prayed that our love would abound more and more that we may continue growing in both knowledge and discernment. The Greek word for discernment in this verse, aísthēsis, is different from the one used in the “gifts” passage. This word aísthēsis connects our capacity for the love of God with a heightened perception of the things of the Spirit. It also speaks of accumulated wisdom, knowledge, and insights acquired from growing in the things of God. This kind of discernment connects to both our senses and our intellect. Isn’t that just beautiful? The more you grow in love, the more you grow in divine insight.
Philippians 1:9 NLT ~ I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding.
